They balance study with other commitments including work, so have often already developed skills in time-management, flexibility and commitment. With students and graduates based across England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland, we can support you in finding OU candidates across the UK. We are keen to offer our students and graduates a broad range of internship opportunities, both virtual and workplace based. We also welcome opportunities that are flexible in working hours and duration. For students to study at the Open University they are expected to have the following minimum requirements. A desktop or laptop computer with:• Windows 7 or higher• The screen of the device must have a resolution of at least 1024 pixels horizontally and 768 pixels vertically.• To join in the spoken conversation in our online rooms we recommend a headset (headphones or earphones with an integrated microphone).
Please note any specialist software or equipment needed to effectively carry out the role should be supplied by the employer.
Eligible organisations with fewer than 250 employees and a turnover of less than £50m are able to apply for a Santander Placement Scheme. Eligible organisations include companies, sole traders, and partnerships and must be registered and based in the United Kingdom. Please note charities are not eligible for this funding.This means Santander will match-fund the student’s wages for a placement of between four and eight weeks (potentially longer if part time) The placement can start at any time between now and 1st November 2020. All placements need to be agreed by 30th September 2020.In order to access funding from the Santander Universities programme, your organisation needs to be classified as an SME.
